This Christmas - I didn't run out and spend a lot of money on buying you 'things.' By now, you should know how I feel about mindless spending especially around this time of the year. This is not to say that I did not give you anything. On the contrary, being that you're both at home from school this week, I made it a point of giving you more of my time and attention. I gave you more affection. I gave you more hugs. More kisses. More acknowledgement and validation. I let you guys stay up late practically every night that you've had off from school. We've played games together. I 'bowled' on my iPad with Gustavo and beaded necklaces with you, Milena, until you got bored and left me holding the string, so to speak. All in all, while we don't have much family here to celebrate the holidays with (no big parties, no celebrations), having us all together with Dad being around more often than he normally is has been a real gift. I love you both tremendously.
